Grrrrrrr

When I started Ben's Christmas stocking I bought a Daylight lap-light to help me see the holes in the navy blue aida. It was a godsend as, while the 'white towel on the lap' trick worked in daylight, as soon as I had my magifying lamp switched on, it didn't work. At that time, you may remember, we had two kittens and a puppy in the house, and the inevitable happened - the flex got chewed, I didn't notice and when the lap-light was next switched on, the bulb blew. That was when I discovered that I couldn't get spare bulbs. Much to my annoyance I had to buy a whole new unit, and at almost £50 they aren't cheap. I couldn't manage without it though. When Ben's stocking was finished, I put it away in my craft shelves, and there it has stayed, not being moved since last November. I got it out again last night to start Debbies stocking (also on navy aida) and found that the bulb had failed. It just flickers like a flourescent tube that won't light properly. So once again I have had to order a whole new unit. Fortunately Siesta Frames have an offer of 20% off, but it's still a lot of money. So everyone - if you are going to buy one, try and find a different one to the Daylight company's brand. I know they are around as I've seen them at shows, but I couldn't find one online last night.
So now I can't afford to get those ghd hair straighteners :-(
